2025_1_139 - A pre-doctoral position in gravitational wave physics in the Relativity and Gravitation Research Group at the University of the Balearic Islands

Offer Description
For this call, we are seeking candidates for a pre-doctoral position in the area of gravitational wave physics to strengthen our participation in the LISA and ET collaborations. The selected candidate will study gravitational waves produced during the coalescence of binaries involving boson stars, black holes and/or neutron stars embedded in dark matter clouds, as well as their impact on current (LVK) and future (LISA and ET) gravitational wave observations. Research in the gravitational physics group at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) spans a wide range of topics, including gravitational wave data analysis, waveform modelling and numerical relativity. The group comprises PIs Alicia Sintes and Sascha Husa (a staff scientist at ICE Barcelona and joint PI on research grants at the UIB), faculty members Carlos Palenzuela, David Keitel and Jaume Carot, as well as several post-doctoral researchers and PhD students. It is involved in the LIGO Scientific Collaboration, the LISA Consortium and the Einstein Telescope project. For further details see .
