Accountant

The Role

We are looking for a bright, hands on Accountant. The ideal candidate will have experience with assisting in the delivery of monthly management accounts. The ideal candidate will be outgoing, driven and have the ability and initiative to work individually and as part of a team within a growing organisation.

Core Duties will include:
Payment of multi-currency supplier invoices and personal expenses
Payment of multi-currency affiliates
Payment journal postings
Investigate/query payment discrepancies
Flagging and clarifying any unusual or questionable invoices or costs
Responsibility for accruals and prepayments
Multi-currency bank reconciliations
Performing balance sheet reconciliations
Fixed Asset accounting
Purchase order maintenance, ensuring all liabilities are accrued appropriately.
Providing cover for Accounts Payable
Preparation of quarterly VAT returns and Spanish Taxes
Knowledge on the Ceuta taxes and particularities
Reconciling and verifying accounting entries made by others.
Communicating and responding to enquiries with suppliers, departments and other group companies in a courteous and timely manner.
Prepare analysis of accounts
Preparing schedules for month end
Handling Intercompany postings
Handling group cost allocations
Assisting in ad hoc month end tasks as required
Managing quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting
Providing documentation, support and analysis for external audit as required
Ensure effective controls developed and maintained around AP and month end close processes
Supporting financial accountant and wider finance team.
Experience/Competencies:
Prior experience in a similar role

Passion and flexibility to work the hours required to see tasks to completion in a timely, accurate and efficient manner
Demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Excellent excel skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to work under pressure and achieve tight deadlines
Ability to communicate fluently in English and Spanish
