Our opportunity
Reporting to the regional head of Networks, this Senior DevOps Networking Engineering role will play a key part within the modernisation of our global networking landscape as a pivotal contributor to our experienced EMEA network engineering team. Supporting our current and future business connectivity requirements, working across the networking stack hand in hand with service providers and consumers across the organisation including our connectivity partners, Group IT and Security, BU Stakeholders and Group Advanced Ops. This role will focus on modernisation of a customer focussed networking service consumed by both internal and external customers in the global organisation.
Your role
As a Senior DevOps Networking Engineer your main responsibilities will involve
Collaborate with Cross-functional Teams: Partner with organizational product and service teams to conceptualize, design, and implement robust network architecture projects with an emphasis on automation and streamlining of processes to enhance efficiency and reliability.
Pipeline Process Integration: Develop and integrate network services within continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, ensuring seamless and automated delivery.
Innovative Solutions and Adherence to Standards: Apply innovative methodologies and tools to optimize network performance, scalability, and security. Maintain comprehensive documentation and adhere to industry standards and best practices for network architecture and automation. Ensure rigorous testing processes are in place to validate network integrity and functionality.
Stakeholder Collaboration and Design: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define requirements and design specifications for both traditional network and multi-cloud connectivity solutions for business and network projects. Provide guidance and recommendations on cloud and automation solutions to the Network team.
Supplier Validation and Technical Support: Review internal and external supplier proposals and quotations, performing technical validation to ensure alignment with company technology standards. Investigate and support troubleshooting efforts on internal and Cloud network technical issues.
Your Skills and Experience
As a Senior DevOps Networking Engineer your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
5+ years of experience in network engineering role with experience of end-to-end connectivity with at least one cloud provider, preferably multi-cloud.
Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD implementations.
Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, IP routing and core technologies such as TCP/IP, OSPFBGP, MPLS, ACLs, IPSEC, DNS, etc.
Knowledge in WAN/LAN Network Architecture and Operations including (Firewalls, Routers, Switches).
Experience of full stack cloud migrations and support of a hybrid environment of on-prem and Cloud infrastructure.
You use your skills to develop and implement enterprise-grade network infrastructure that is efficient, scalable, resilient and secure in its design.
Proven experience in complex troubleshooting connectivity issues in both cloud and traditional network environments
You have experience working within a geographically distributed IT team spread across multiple time zones.
You can work on your own initiative while also providing guidance and technical leadership in a group setting.
