We are looking for a passionate Senior Software Engineer for our amazing team! We are responsible for developing digital solutions that will provide convenient, inspiring, and fun shopping experiences to our customers in our Physical Customer Meeting Points (PCMP).
For us, Meet the Range team, our vision is to enable many to explore the range and feel inspired increasing the joy of shopping at IKEA with “physical” contextualized experiences in-store. Your responsibilities
- Designing and implementing web applications with a modern development approach. Creating frontend UI with modern frameworks, data models, messaging and API specs.
- Developing high-quality code using and applying good software engineering practices (e.g., DRY principles, TDD and BDD, continuous integration, automated tests, pair programming, code reviews) within an agile/iterative development approach and with a DevOps mindset.
- Working closely together with other software engineers and cross functions to produce all required design specifications and ensure that digital solutions work together and fulfil business needs.
- Driving the product discovery, development and operation process within a multidisciplinary team (Product, Data, UX and Engineering) while contributing to the design and deployment of IKEA Digital In-Store solutions.
- Contributing to the continuous development of standards against which software development should take place as well as exploring and bringing in new technologies to boost innovation and development productivity.
Your skills may include: 
- Good experience in software engineering.
- Good experience with web development and a good understanding of API design.
- Experienced in JavaScript (NodeJS/React).
- Interested in building APIs and web services using cloud solutions (Serverless preferably on GCP).
- Working with GitHub, CI/CD, DevOps and Agile.
- Experience with both SQL and NoSQL DBs.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be expected to:
- Mentor and coach Engineers
- Lead initiatives on code quality and pointing out and driving the cleanup of tech debt
- Always have non-functional requirements in mind, e.g. Security, Architecture, Readability.
- Lead work from an engineering perspective, working closely with Product and UX design
- Live, breathe and spread a DevOps culture
- Spread a culture of end-to-end ownership of features/issues

Based in Madhult (Madrid INGKA Digital Hub), Meet the Range team is building new tech and experiences that reimagine the in-store shopping experience, providing a bridge between the physical and digital retail worlds. Our first product is RESIDE, a revolutionary tool to address the challenges of space constraints and bring back the essence of in-store shopping, providing customers with a captivating and truly inspiring experience.
